I was thinking just now about the garden. Just get out there, there’s stuff to do in the garden, it’s nice outside, go and do it.
Then I thought about the dog.
There’s a different ‘just get out there’ for me and the dog. We have to go out there, every day, no matter the weather. He needs his exercise and he has to perform other essential doggy functions as well as less important ones, like chasing squirrels.
And then I thought about work…
There’s always stuff to do for work but it can be easier sometimes to treat work as the garden and only go out there and do it when the ‘weather is nice’, when things are good and enjoyable.
But in reality it’s better to treat work more like a dog walk and get out there on a cold rainy day. Even on those days there will be joy, there will be good that comes from it.
Get the harder stuff done. Feel the warmth when you get back inside.
